BEHIND THE LENS
International photographer and documentary filmmaker Luis Carlos Garcia has spent more than three decades observing the world through a lens shaped by curiosity, movement, and story.
His career began in Panama in 1998 working in film and television production, where he developed a strong visual instinct for framing, atmosphere, and narrative. Those early years behind the camera shaped what would become a lifelong pursuit: capturing the moments that reveal the spirit of a place.
Photography soon became the natural extension of that visual language. What began as a creative pursuit evolved into a global body of work documenting landscapes, traditions, and everyday human moments across continents and cultures.
Luis is drawn to the intersection of place, tradition, and human experience - the quiet details that often go unnoticed but define how people live, celebrate, and connect. His images reflect an approach rooted in observation rather than staging, allowing stories to unfold naturally within the environments where they belong.
Through LCG Studios, Luis collaborates with tourism boards, brands, and editorial publications to create imagery that communicates the identity of a destination and the authenticity of the people who inhabit it. His work has been commissioned for international campaigns, editorial features, and cultural documentation projects that seek to reveal not just what a place looks like, but how it feels.
In recent years, Luis has also expanded into documentary filmmaking, bringing the same visual sensitivity and narrative instinct to motion storytelling. His debut documentary project Danza con Diablos reflects the same guiding philosophy that shapes his photography: that every place holds a story worth seeing and every story deserves to be told with honesty, admiration, and respect.
